Bilal Pasha committed suicide: Full Story
The news of the sudden death of a young government officer on social media in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday evening has left his friends, colleagues, and students, including those who were inspired by his life’s struggle story, saddened.
Bilal Pasha, who was working as Chief Executive Officer in Military Cantonment Bannu, was found dead in his room on Monday.
According to District Police Officer Bannu Iftikhar Shah, “Apparently, it appears to be a case of suicide”, however, the post-mortem has been conducted and the medical report is awaited.
Bilal Pasha’s funeral prayer was performed Tuesday morning in his native Abdul Hakim.
Bilal Pasha’s father Ahmad Yar has given details of his last phone conversation with Bilal to BBC News. He is a self-employed resident of Abdul Hakeem village in Khanewal and head of his family.
He said, ‘ I spoke to Bilal on Saturday and he was telling me he has been transferred.’
Ahmed Yar was crying while talking to BBC News on the phone. He said that ‘eight to ten days ago, one day Bilal was saying on the phone that Baba wants me to quit my job and come home or take a few days off so that I can sleep to my heart’s content. Now I go to Rawalpindi and apply for leave and come home.
The news of Bilal’s sudden death shocked many not only because it was a young death but also because his story of struggle had made him a beacon for civil services aspirants.
Bilal Pasha is currently trending on social media, and his colleagues, friends, and students are also paying tribute to him.

Father of Bilal Pasha Ahmad Yar said that he had five sons, among whom Bilal was the youngest. Bashir Ahmed, one of Ahmadyar’s brothers, had no children, so he adopted his nephew Bilal, and being a joint family, Bilal was brought up by both families together.

Ahmed Yar has told the media about Sunday and Monday. He said “I received a call from Bilal on Sunday during the Fajr prayer. I was surprised that he did not call at that time. I do not know why he called.”
He said that after that, Bilal spoke to his friend and he told telling that he is going to Islamabad and that if you needed anything, tell him. After that, when I called Bilal, I could not talk because Bilal did not pick up the phone, I thought that he must have fallen asleep.
Similarly, I called again at eleven o’clock and half past twelve, but Bilal did not pick up the phone. I was worried but kept thinking that Bilal must be sleeping.
According to the father, he sat in the mosque late at night and called Bilal but could not get in touch. Then I thought that Bilal would wake up and see that Baba had made so many calls, so he would call himself, but Bilal’s phone did not come.
Ahmed Yar said that on Monday morning I called a friend of Bilal who went to the room and saw that the door was locked from inside.
The friend told me that when they broke the door and entered, Bilal was not alive. We don’t know what happened, he didn’t even say anything to us that would indicate any trouble.
According to him, Bilal Pasha got married two or three years ago, but after some time they got separated.
He said that Bilal was my son but he was also a very good friend. He often shared his heart with me.

On the other hand, Assistant Commissioner Banu Syed Abrar Ali Shah while talking to media said that he was not able to contact Bilal Pasha on the phone, so he thought to go to his office and meet him.
When I came to the office, I found that he did not even come there, so I went to his residence. When we reached there and asked the employees about Bilal Pasha, they said that we had knocked on his door several times but there was no response from inside.
Abrar says ‘We tried to break the door, but despite trying several times, the door did not break.
In response to a question from the media, Abrar said that Bilal never said anything to him that suggested he was suffering from mental stress. I never even thought about it, I don’t understand how it happened. He was talking about going to Rawalpindi, on Monday he was supposed to go to Pindi after handing over the charge.
Abrar and Bila Pashal became friends during the Civil Services Academy.
According to Abrar, ‘Bilal was a very cheerful boy, the life of every party, and his attitude was always friendly.’

When Bilal came to the public for the first time after passing the competitive exam, there was a heated debate on social media regarding those who do CSS. It was said that only the children of elite class and influential families could pass this test.
Standing in front of the brick wall with his speechless father Bashir Ahmed, Bilal Pasha told the story of his struggle, which immediately went viral on social media.
In the year 2019, he got the 85th position in the CSS exam and was posted in the Military Lands and Cantonment Department.
He had done various 17th-grade government jobs before clearing the CSS exam and, according to him, was drawn to government jobs only at the insistence of his father.
Standing with his father, Bilal told the story of his continuous hard work and struggle in the video and said, “This is my proud father Bashir Ahmed who has worked all his life. Alhamdulillah, I am very proud that I am the son of a laborer.” ‘
“Only two or three people in my family have matriculated and after that, no one even made it to Inter. Both my father and mother did not receive formal education.
This was his response to those who were insisting that the CSS could only be the spectacle of influential families.
He further said ‘I got my primary education from Maktab School. Then completed matriculation and FSC from government school and college.
Explaining Maktab School System In the past, these schools were built in mosques to provide formal education to children in remote areas.
Bilal Pasha said that he studied at this school where minor and major A, B, C are taught up to sixth grade.
After school, he studied at the Agricultural University of Faisalabad and that too with successive government scholarships.
Bilal Pasha also said at the end of this video that after reaching Lahore, I will organize lectures along with fellow CSS toppers for students who cannot afford admission to good academics.
Fulfilling this promise, apart from YouTube videos, he taught students various subjects including American history in CSS, and also gave guidance related to the exam.
On Bilal’s YouTube channel ‘Learn with Bilal’, he published a video for students nine days ago in which he guided the CSS screening test ie MCQs Based Preliminary Test (MPT).
